Our next pack meeting is Tuesday June 5 7:00-8:00 pm at Central Park/Farmer’s Market!  It will be our annual Ice Cream Social.  Come eat ice cream and play games.

Camp Pico Blanco July 29-August 1, 2012

Save the date for our ONLY Cub Scout sleep-away summer camp!  This year our Pack 111 is going to Camp Pico Blanco in the Monterey Bay area.  They have BB guns, archery, canoeing and swimming, and lots more!  Block those days off work so you can come with your son.  It’s really fun. 
    The non-refundable deposit of $175 ($110 scout, $65 adult) is due by March 25!  Send me a check made out to Pack 111 to Kathy Glatter 2513 Madrid Court Davis, CA 95616.  Total cost is $250 for a scout and adult.  Need-based scholarships on the order of $50 are available; let us know.
  We currently have 44 signed up to go but room for more!  Come join the fun!  It’s our biggest summer camp trip ever!
   If you have signed up, Kathy will need a medical form for you and your son signed by a doctor and your Youth Protection Training Form by mid-June, or you can’t go!

Camp Cayuse Twilight Camp - June 21-23, 2012

Save the date! Twilight camp runs Thu/Fri, 6pm-9pm & Sat. 9am-4pm.  BB guns, archery, wood & leather projects, waterslides, & fun campfire programs!  Be prepared to volunteer.   Contact Chris Smith at smithcam@worldnet.att.net  for information.  It's in nearby Woodland.

Pack overnight on the Balclutha Tall Ship May 19

Event is Saturday evening to Sunday morning.  $26/person plus bring our own night time snack and breakfast.  Up to 35 people can attend each date.  Contact Janis Cooke to reserve your space.  Scouts who visited the Balclutha 3 years ago say it is lots of fun.  For more info about the tall ship, see:  http://www.nps.gov/features/safr/feat0001/virtualships/balclutha_lev_2.htm

Volunteers needed for Pack 111

Did you know that Pack 111 is an all-volunteer group?  We can’t function without volunteers!  Please do that for you sons!
   
Here are what we need filled-
a)  Committee Chair- important administrative role that must be filled.  Host/run our leaders’ meeting 4-6 times or so a year.
b)   Summer Camp Lassen Coordinator- everything is organized to pick this job up. It’s really a lot of fun!   It’s to go to Camp Lassen again.  Otherwise our pack won’t have  a summer sleep-away camp!

We are currently recruiting for next year!  We are the biggest Cub Scout pack in Davis.  We are looking for current kindergarteners- tell your friends and neighbors!  Our target schools are Birch Lane, Merryhill, and Korematsu.  Email our Registrar Kathy Glatter at kaglatter@gmail.com   if you have names

Uniform Closet

at the end of the May Pack meeting, you can leave your gently used hats, scarves, and slides for the next bunch with our Coordinator, Stacy Clark!  She will have a box at the Pack meeting to collect them.

Yolo County GEC-BSA Awards

Kudos to Janis and Alex Cooke for receiving Pack 111’s Frontline Leader Award at the recent Yolo BSA award ceremony!  The Maurantonio family (Cubmaster Danny/Kathy/Jack/Max) were named Yolo County’s Scouting Family of the Year.
